They agree to honor their discount, but ....
I bought a computer from Alienware's website on August 30. They offered free shipping ($129 discount) for online orders, but charged me $129 anyway. Alienware responded to my email about this by saying that to process price reductions for discounts, they required that I call them.
Sometime in September, I called them. I don't have notes on that, just a fuzzy, year-old memory. I talked with someone, things went smoothly, I hung up convinced that it was taken care of.
It wasn't until last month, when I reviewed my credit card records, that I realized: there was no line item in my statements for a credit from Alienware for $129.
I'm not going to say that they ripped me off for $129. Maybe they were just late in processing my $129 and rolled it into a different discount that they gave me weeks later (more on THAT one in a couple of blogs). It's possible.
But I was pretty surprised not to see a standalone $129 refund item on my credit card statements.
